    Single

Ok, confession: I own Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman. I was stressed and nervous about the then- upcoming ROB call, so I made my brother buy it for me. If my other brother knew about this, he would totally make fun of me because I made fun of him when he had So Sick on his mp3 player. I told him that he’s a sissy because he likes Ne-Yo, and that Ne-Yo should be renamed "No-No".

So yes, No-No has the last laugh now.

His singles, Miss Independent and Mad were stuck in my head, for, like, EVER, and sometimes I even caught myself humming to the song while washing the dishes without realizing. And then I... accidentally... looked for reviews of the album and most of the reviews were positive. After listening to the whole album, I concur with the critics. It's a great pop album and I sorta don't regret buying it.

My favourite song by far in this album is Single. I was looking for the lyrics online, when I came across an article in Rolling Stone, saying that the single Single (clever) is a collaboration between Ne-Yo and NKOTB. NKOTBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB!! Everything comes back full circle, man.

I can’t find the ‘official’ vclip on youtube, but here's the live version NKOTB did for AOL:

“So for the next couple-a minutes… Baby imma be your boyfrienddd….“ *PENGSANNNNNNNN*

Anyway *recovers from faint*, full lyrics, mostly for my reference:

    Single

Everybody in the club right now, tell the DJ to turn it loud
Baby girl, this your favourite song, baby girl, this your favourite song
This for girls who got their own car, this for girls who got their own crib
This for girls who got their own

If you came here by yourself tonight
'Cause he wouldn't pick up the phone
He was supposed to bring you here tonight
Couldn't find him so you came alone

It don't matter cause' you're here now
    And the music you're enjoying
So for the next couple minutes
    Baby I'mma be your boyfriend

Pretty mama if you're single, single
You don't gotta be alone tonight
So while the DJ play that single, single
Just pretend that I'm you're man tonight

See you don't got to be alone, I'll be your boyfriend
See you don't got to be alone, girl I'll be your boyfriend
See you don't got to be alone, baby I'll be your boyfriend
Be your boyfriend till the song goes off

See you don't got to be alone, I'll be your boyfriend
See you don't got to be alone, girl I'll be your boyfriend
See you don't got to be alone, baby I'll be your boyfriend
Be your boyfriend till the song goes off
Hey, be your boyfriend till the song goes off

He don't tell you that you're beautiful
Let me tell you to the beat
He don't tell you that he loves you, girl
Let me sing it in a harmony

Let my song get you higher
We don't have to come back down
And if ever you should miss me
Just tell the DJ run it back now

Be your boyfriend till the song goes off
Be your boyfriend till the song goes off

White Lies – Farewell to the Fairground

Download the latest version of Flash to view this content

The light's still in our eyes
We’re leaving this old fairground behind
    It’s a dream that’s growing cold
    The circus never dies
The act forever haunts these skies
    I know we cannot stay

    Farewell to the fairground
    These rides aren’t working anymore
    Goodbye to this dead town
Until the ice begins to thaw

    This place used to gleam
I’d see it in my hopeful dreams
Now I have to get away
    We move towards the stars
And all that we touch becomes ours
Let’s keep warm ’til it’s day

    Farewell to the fairground
    These rides aren’t working anymore
    Goodbye to this dead town
Until the ice begins to thaw
We’ll head south just hold my hand now
I feel like I’m casting off my clothes
And I’m running through the snow towards the sunset
    And I’m always with you

    Keep on running
    Keep keep on running
    There’s no place like home
    There’s no place like home

    Powered by IE8

    Get yours here!

Some sites (usually blogspot-based blogs) made my browser all headache-y. I suspect the sites have those annoying click-for-ads programs. You know, when you accidentally click on the site, an ad would pop-up? I’m not saying that IE8 is not adverts friendly. Those who do it properly, like the nuffnang ads and google ads that they put in a box neatly on their site, runs smoothly on IE8. It’s those annoying mofos who submerged the click-for-ads programs in their site that kills my browser. Woaah… ”submerged”. Anyway, this means that IE8 is secure from the annoying pop-up ads, innit?

My favourites things on the new and improved IE8:

    Accelerators

    accelerators

    (source)

Yeah, you can’t see very clearly from the above pic. If you squint your eyes a bit, you can see a blue arrow box at the left side of the pic. What it does is, if you select a text/ pic on the page, and the arrow box appears, then you can immediately either blog the page, email it through live mail, or from the above pic, find the location of the company via Live Maps. Basically any web service supported by Accelerators. I am thoroughly impressed. And it’s not just for Microsoft based web services either, so calm down haters. You can download a variety of web services supported by Accelerator from the Gallery.

    Browse Privately

You know how sometimes when you’re browsing for por.. err, gifts for your family, IE saves the url in the browser history, and anyone who shares the same computer will be able to see what were the links that you visited, thus potentially ruin your surprise for them? Well, IE8 has a function called InPrivate Browsing, where your browsing activities will not be recorded in the InPrivate window. For a paranoid super stalker like me, this is a highly welcomed function.

    Visual Search

When you do a search at the search bar (right corner of your IE browser), visuals that are related to your search are shown. Yes, this is not necessary, but still a good frilly addition to the browser. Say, you’re searching for Clive Owen using the Wiki-engine in your search bar, and you can immediately see his gorgeous mug at the search bar, before you finally click on the link and see a bigger more satisfying picture of my boyfriend. Heh.

Also, this is not specific to IE8, but I love the personalization function of Windows Live page. This… is my Windows Live page:

    winlivescreenshot

Squint if you can’t see. If you have Windows Live, and put it as your default search page, you can actually customize it based on your preference. For example, I have 4 tabs in my page:  Basic, News, Entertainment and Personal. As per attached screenshot, we’re at my Personal tab. I put all the RSS feed of the sites that I frequent on a daily basis. I can read the full post by clicking on the More link, without even going to the site. So, if The Man were to do a check on my browsing history, it doesn’t really show that I’m goofing off at gossip sites when I should be doing work. CLEVER.

I won’t go into what I have in the other tabs, but safe to say that I can do all my daily surfing from just my Windows Live page. You can even customize the colours for the different tabs. I chose ‘ice’ for the Personal tab because well, honestly they don’t have much colour choices. My Basic tab is ‘ocean’ = blue, the News tab is ‘black’ because it’s all serious and stuff, Entertainment tab is ‘pink’ eventhough it looks purple. So for Personal tab, it was a choice between green or ice, and green doesn’t seem like a ‘frivolous’ colour to me.

So, erm, I don’t think it was a good idea to share this brilliant customization tip online where my boss might stumble upon hor.
